 I have been to Waffle House twice in the past 2 weeks on a Saturday around 12 noon. I have eaten there more than 75 times since 1992.

 Each time I have been pleasantly surprised with great food and average service. The service on recent occasions was by the same waitress who never would wipe down our table. We sat in obvious dismay as our knife, fork, spoon and napkin were placed down on a very dirty table that had never been cleaned after the previous customer had left a mess of salt, pepper and random food particles. Plus there were egg pans that were waiting to be washed or had been washed laying face down on this same dirty counter top. I went with my 18 year old son and explained I would not ask for someone to clean up the mess if they did not notice or care themselves.

 Guess what? They did not notice or care themselves. So i tipped accordingly. I tipped a 1.50 on a 14.00 meal. My son got a Texas Melt for 6.85 cents and a 1.50 Tea. I ordered a 1/4 Burger and a coke. Both meals were excellent in taste and texture but the Tea seemed to be a little too sweet. The meals came right off the grill and straight to our dirty counter top.

So it you want a great meal at a good value and do not mind a dirty table then go to Waffle House. 2.5 out of 4 due to cleanliness.

 The food was Great. The service was fast. The cook served us while our waitress ate and she came out chewing food and took my eaten plate of food away. The price was great. The cleanliness was bad. Once upon a time my wife would not go to this place because it catered to smokers. Thank goodness the state of  Tennessee outlawed smoking in public pubic indoor venues or this might be a 1.5 rating.
