 I played football.

Born 1962, the oldest Majors Grandchild in Knoxville TN, USA. Son of Linda Lou & Bill Majors a defensive back coach for Tennessee who was hit by a train the 3rd weekend in October 1965, with 2 other Tennessee assistant football coaches, Charlie Rash and Bob Jones. The same weekend Tennessee had unexpectedly tied Bear Bryant's 1965 National Champion; Alabama Crimson Tide. We lived on Cessna Rd just 250 yards from a  Southern Rail Passenger train, running late and traveling an estimated 75 miles an hour at 6.53 am that morning.  Seven young boys were left fatherless including my younger brother Mark and I. Part of my life.

Raised in Dalton GA in the Lynn Tunnell family. Played football as a youth from age 9  through High School under the direction of Bill Chappell at the time of this article was the winningest coach in Georgia High School football history. Had the time of my life.

1/2 Walk-on and 1/2 Granted tuition or $1000 and I pay $1000 to attend Tennessee Military Institute in Sweetwater TN  under the direction of Bill Dupes in 1980. Tennessee Military Institute was a 1/2 Way House I called it. 1/2 way between Hell and a College Scholarship. Also 1/2 men, 1/2 boys...Some of these guys were big time college guys who couldn't pass high school and some were like me, skinny, weak and slow, hoping to get thick, strong and fast. Spent 1 quarter there at DE, and played big and small college b-teams, like UT, Carson Newman and others. We went 9-1, losing only to UT after Jerry Butler...."the fastest, best moving, raspiest voice running back I ever played with" dropped a fake punt under clear blue skies. Actually the pass hit him in the back of the head. He was lost, but far enough down field looking to tackle someone that he looked as if he knew the play was on.......other than his head never turned around. Easy come...Easy gone I guess. I'm Thinking nothing to loose and everything to gain.

Walked-on Memphis State Memphis TN 1981 under the direction of Rex Dockery after not gaining a scholarship for my work at TMI. Rex was an old friend of my father and stopped by my home to talk just after my grandfather Shirley Majors died in 1981. Played one year never starting and dressed out for one game. Nothing to loose.

Walked-on Austin Peay State Clarksville TN 1982 under the direction of Emory Hale. Red shirt 1 year; 1  year of turmoil, then granted full scholarship. Played "Mike" middle linebacker in 1983, 1984  and 1985. Had the time of my life.

    Coach Frank R Mullins Youth Football 49ers Lower Division ages 8-9-10 1998, 1999, 2002, 2003, Coach Yellow Jackets Upper Division ages 10-11-12 2000, 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009. Tullahoma TN. Having the time of my life.

 Married with children.
