Offensive Positions

  1. Quarterback: Best all around athlete on the field or second best with brains, good arm, or speed.
  2. Fullback: Third or forth best athlete with good hands and good speed.
  3. Tailback: Second best athlete with the best speed and good hands. This man must be able to take punishment and still hold on to the ball.
  4. Wingback/Flanker/Powerback: All around athlete with speed brains, technique, able to block, run and catch.
  5. Quick End/Split End: Needs good hands and speed. blocking is secondary to hands and speed.
  6. Strong End/Right/Tight End: Strong blocker type with speed and hands if your lucky.
  7. Quick Tackle/ Left Tackle: Tackle with quickness able to pull. Called the the quick tackle because most QB's are right handed and set up with their backside to this tackle and most defenses put their quickest rusher to the offenses left side. So if the quick tackle doesn't make his block. Guess what? The QB gets nailed from behind. He has the hardest job on pass blocks. Must be quick and use technique.
  8. Strong Tackle/ Right Tackle: Biggest, strongest man on the field with and attitude. This man dominates all players on the board drill.
  9. Quick Guard / Left Guard: This guy is the quickest most technical blocker on the field with a nose for free running defensive players who need to be knocked down.
  10. Strong Guard / Right Guard: Combination of biggest strongest blocker who can move and pull. Mostly a drive blocker with size.
  11. Center: Field General with excellent technique and a quick first step. Proficient in take the man where he wants to go blocking. A quick useable snap.
