Credit Repair Help some questions about the best way to fix my credit

I would like to ask you some questions about the best way to fix my credit.  I am married and have 3 kids, and we live in Tullahoma.  I was laid off for ~9 months and before working for about 2 years I was going to school to get my PhD, so we have credit card bills and student loans that I have not been making payments on.   We are about to receive our income tax refund and we would like to use ~$2000 to start repairing our credit, and I would like to start making payments on the rest.  I would like to know where I should start paying first, so I can repair my credit the quickest possible way.  Can you recommend what I should do, or do you know someone that can be of help?
