I need some free credit advice
I did set up the budget and I have 2 kids in college but I have little left over, but I’m trying…
OK I need some serious help – direction… I was married for about 13 years to a, well it doesn’t matter anyway – through that marriage my credit was destroyed. Lot of old debt & a 2000 bankruptcy.. I struggled & didn’t rebuild barely making mimimum payments, owed the IRS – paid them off & then in 2004 I met the most wonderful man. I lived with him 5 1/2 years & planned to marry him this fall, didn’t need or use credit, never gave it a second look. I didn’t save any money either because I was so comfortable & had a great life. Then on May 31, 2009 he had a heart attack & died. The house was in his Mom’s name & she wanted to sell it so I moved in with a female relative, & my 2 kids went back to college.
I have a 2003 Ford gas guzzling pickup that I owe $2500 on, so I need a car. I also need a home for when the kids come home on weekends. Not room here. Like I said it’s not as bad as some people have it but I need to do better quick.
I have a good stable job make $37,000 a year. Insurance on cars (kids) & mine as well as health insurance is taking a chunk. I pulled my credit report & it’s 539 with a lot of stuff dropping off next year. Problem is I need a car & house NOW. I have property that is paid for. Should I try build on that lot, buy a foreclosure or try to buy a car? No one wants to give me credit… Well I haven’t tried but I know with that credit score. I don’t know what diredtion to take.
I need a strategy to get out of this? You seem pretty smart. Can you guide me? What would you do? Thanks

if you have property and a good job most banks will find some way to finance you
i would go with a local non big bank bank
make sure the bank will report to bureaus
as far as the car goes?
I would call around and try to trade even steven or better yet
try to trade down and get 2500 hun bank to pay off your debt and then you will be scot free on a car

Thank you so much…. I will…
