Hi Bo my question is…..I have two charge offs on my credit there both in collections….they are also both old cell phone bills….I want to settle to delete do I contact the original account or the debt collectors to do this….if I deal with the collectors and the sign the agreement ..will the original account holder delete this info. also ..or vice versa…..if I settle with the cell phone company’s for deletion will the it be removed from my account …or will it still be there under the  debt collectors company name…..my scores are around 680 except for equafax is 627 if I remove these negative marks do you feel my score will rise …I am shooting for anything over 700…thanks…Scott

I would call both the first and second debtors and ask them these questions
ask for total removal if you pay in full.
get something in writing before you pay.
you can never now any of this before you ask.
I have done the same things as you and had good results

I am afraid though that old cell phone people will not work with you
and
if the old cell phone bills are older than say 3 – 4 years old you might be better off leaving them alone
how old are these collections and the old charge offs
