Credit Report Dispute Question

I have a question involving disputes on my credit report. Ive never filed a dispute before and have always heard that once you start the process the item in question temporarily comes off of your report while it is being investigated. I can’t seem to find anything online though to back this up. My question is then, is it true or not?
I need new windows in my house and the item in question is causing me to be denied the credit I need to do the windows. I have no idea what or why this item is on my report. Ive called the number, left messages, and no one calls me back which is why I disputed it. Anyway, thank you in advance for your time.

not true completely and uderly false

the item should come right off if you cannot contact the account, because this is exactly what the bureaus are going to do.

and if they do not get an answer within 30 days the items will be removed

I hope you remember me from about a month back. Your last email said that you wanted me to email you and let you know the results. Well, under Results it lists the account that was in question and on the right it says Outcome: Deleted so, needless to say, I’m ecstatic about that =) It saved me $850 which I’m in need of since my son was just born. Thank you so much for the information and advice!
