Lawyer sue lien | 10 year Old Collections | Not on Report | Legal?

I have a question and thought maybe you could help me. I have a Lawyers office in a small town near where I live contacting me saying I owe this money that was through a collection agency, now the issues on this letter from this collection agency are more than 10 years old, they are using scare tactics and threatening us with court and lien holds on bank accounts or assets because of it, can they do that when it is that old? It used to be on our credit reports but it is no longer. We have just recently worked very hard to clean up our credit and purchased a new mobile home and a Semi truck for my husband to make a living. Can they attach a lien to them?

Man I don’t know at all. I would contact the credit repair group on
Yahoo groups. Many of them know credit law. I would think you could
not be sued. But I have no facts and I am not a lawyer.
