Hi, I found your website while looking for form letters. My wife and I are trying to get into a house, and want to get our credit cleaned up. I have a quick question. the first being my wife is getting “sued” by a certain credit card company for a past debt, (a pretty recent past debt) can we still go about using one of the form letters to have this removed on payment? this was on a card that started of as a $300 card then up to $500 when it got cancelled. now due to interest its up to just over a grand, but they are willing to take about $900 for it, even though we are getting sued, can we still contact the credit card comapny? should we, or do we need to stick with the lawyer?

You can use the form letters any time you wish for any reason you wish. It just probably will not work. The thing to do would be to negotiate for removal see this.

I think you should contact the credit card campany UNLESS your lawyer says not to. He may get the whole thing thrown out I dont know. BUT one thing you need to realize is that lawyers do not help with credit and even though you might win in court, you will still have to deal with the credit end at some point.
